PARTNERSHIPS TO STRENGTHEN OUR COMMUNITY
Aloha, my name is Lenny Rapozo and I am running for the office of the Mayor for the islands of Kaua'i and Ni'ihau.
I was so lucky to grow up on Kaua'i during a time when I rode my bike until dark and my parents knew that I was safe; where we ate dinner as a family, spent quality family time fishing and camping, where my parents supported me in my community baseball, basketball, volleyball, and football leagues - all because my parents had the time. Unlike parents today who are stuck in traffic traveling from job to job, making sure their kids don't end up on the street and making ends meet while trying to find a place they can call home. This is paradise - and with the right leadership, we can continue to work together to keep Kaua'i and Ni'ihau the special place for all of us and future generations!
I understand the struggles that our community is facing - I myself face the same issues - how will I care for and maintain the quality of life for my elderly mom and mother-in-law and still provide for my family? How will my children afford to live on this island and own a home?
These issues whether it be caring for our kupuna, raising our children in a safe drug free community, providing economic opportunities that will result in jobs that allow future generations to own their own home, are what we all face today. The development of truly affordable housing will depend on a leader that can work with our private and public entities to create PARTNERSHIPS. In my 30 years of government service, everything I have accomplished was realized through partnering and working with individuals in the community to achieve these successes.
I humbly ask for your vote in the upcoming election.
